Martlets and Loomis Tie

There was a tremendous contest down at Jackson Rink on Friday evening. The Martlets and Pelicans faced off in a fast paced, well played, exhilarating duel. Helen Marshall '25 got things started early, netting the puck just two minutes into the game on the great team passing of the second line. Sofia Eleuteri '28 followed shortly thereafter with a ringer of her own. Loomis then retaliated with four unanswered goals requiring the Martlet bench to regroup and reinvigorate. Marshall and Eleuteri provided that spark in the second period by gathering their respective second goals to keep the contest competitive and exciting. It was a bit of back and forth in the third frame with Abigail Graham'27 bringing the home squad to within one at the four minute mark. And in the greatest exhibition of "full-throttle energy" the Martlets tilted the ice in a big way. With just under three minutes remaining, Liza Merrill '25 found the upper corner with a strong and decisive wrist shot from twenty feet out to tie the game at 6-6! A tie that felt like a victory!
