Martlets Fall to Lions

In the final game of the season for Westminster, the team faced off against Kent on Saturday afternoon at Jackson Rink. The game, while full of effort and determination from the Martlets ultimately ended with a 4-1 victory for Kent. The first period saw a competitive back-and-forth between the two teams. Westminster had some quality chances, but were unable to break the ice. About halfway through the period, Kent would get their first goal of the game on the powerplay. The back and forth play continued for the remainder of the period, with Kent leading 1-0 heading into the first intermission. As the second period went on, Kent started to gain momentum and eventually capitalized on their opportunities, adding two more goals to extend their lead to 3-0. Heading into the third period, Westminster was hoping for a strong comeback to end the season. Despite the Martlets best efforts in the third period, they were only able to score once, courtesy of the talented duo of Bella Zapata ‘27 and Adrienne Hall ‘25. While it was a tough result for Westminster in their season finale, the team showed grit and resilience, closing out the year with a hard-fought battle against a strong Kent squad.

The Grit and Grace player of the game is senior captain Remi Morello. Remi led the team through her uplifting spirit and consistent effort during her final game at Jackson Rink.
